TOMATO FISH CURRY | বিলাহী আৰু মাছৰ টেঙা | TASTE OF ASSAM



Tomato Fish Curry (Sol Fish) is a delicious cuisine of Assam where no spices has been used and its very healthy in summer season. It is very popular recipe not only in Assam but also in Kerala and Tamilnadu. Here today I am going to make fish tomato curry in Assam style which is very unique style because there is very less spices are used. Basically food that belongs to North-East part of India is known for its less spices. Here in this recipe Tomato gives a unique sour taste which is very popular in summer season. Let's see the necessary Ingredients and step by step method of cooking this recipe-

Necessary Ingredients For Tomato Fish Curry:

Fish 6 to 7 pieces,
Tomato 3 large,
Mustard oil for frying fish,
Salt as per taste,
Turmeric powder.

Step By Step Method Of Cooking Tomato Fish Curry:

Step One: I have taken some fish pieces and wash it properly.

Step Two: Now take fish pieces in a bowl and add salt and turmeric powder into it. Mix it nicely so that salt and turmeric nicely mix with fish pieces.

Step Three: Now add mustard oil into a pan for frying the fish. When oil is hot enough then add fish pieces. Flame should be medium so that fish doesn't get burnt.

Step Four: When one side gets brown flip it to other side as well so that both the sides of the fish get evenly fried.

Step Five: Now cut 3 to 4 tomatoes in cubes.

Step Six: Now in the remaining oil of the pan add tomato cubes and mx them well.

Step Seven: Add salt as per taste and some turmeric powder and mix it nicely.

Step Eight: Now close the lid and let it cook in low flame for 10 minutes. Stir in-between.

Step Nine: After 10 minutes Tomatoes getting soft.

Step Ten: Now its time to add water into it. Add two cups of water and let it boil.

Step Eleven: After water getting boiled evenly add fried fish pieces and mix it nicely.

Step Twelve: Now lower the flame and close the lid and cook it for 7 more minutes or until fish starts getting soft.

Step Thirteen: Check the consistency. This curry will be little light not a thick gravy. If you like thick gravy than you can make it thick also. It is up to your choice. 

Step Fourteen: Now serve it with hot steamed rice. Surely this recipe will give you heavenly taste. 


NB: Sometimes Tomatoes are not that much sour or sometimes it consists of more sourness. In that case if it has less sourness you can add some lemon juice. For this just squeeze one lemon to your curry. If it has more sour taste than just reduce the amount of tomato you are using for this curry.Enjoy your recipe as you like.
