Moringa or Drumstick leaves has lot of medicinal values. These leaves are rich source of nutrients. Today's recipe is prepared with Moringa Leaves. Here in this recipe dal is prepared with Moringa Leaves. This is very mouthwatering recipe which can be served with steamed rice. It is a very similar to other dal recipes except added Moringa Leaves. Let's see the necessary Ingredients and step by step method of preparation-
Ingredients Required To Prepare Moringa Dal or Drumstick Leaves Dal Recipe:
Toor Dal 200 gram,
Moringa leaves 1 bowl(250 gram bowl),
Garlic chopped 7 to 8 cloves,
Onion chopped 1 medium,
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp,
Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp,
Dry red chili 2,
Coriander powder 1/2 tsp,
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp,
Redchili powder 1/2 tsp,
Salt as per taste,
Tamarind paste 2 tbsp,
Mustard oil 1 tbsp,
Water to boil dal.

Step By Step Method Of Preparation Of Moringa Dal or Drumstick Leaves Dal:
Step One: Soak Toor dal for 30 minutes. Soaking the dal is necessary because it reduces the cooking time.
Step Two: After soaking cook the dal in pressure cooker until 2 or 3 whistle. Be careful we don't have to overcook the dal. After dal has been cooked k it aside let the pressure release automatically.
Step Three: Now take the Moringa leaves and wash and clean the leaves properly. Keep it aside.
Step Four: Now heat a pan and add 1 tbsp of mustard oil. Any kind of cooking oil can be used. Let the oil heat up.
Step Five: Now add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.Let the seeds get brown.
Step Six: Add chopped garlic 1/4th of total quantity(remaining garlic we will use later). Cook garlic until it's getting golden.
Step Seven: Now add chopped onion too and fry until it's getting golden in color.
Step Eight: Now add the spices like coriander powder, red chili powder and turmeric powder. Mix nicely.
Step Nine: Now add Moringa leaves and mix nicely with the spices. Keep the flame lower and close the lid. Let it cook for 5 minutes.
Step Ten: After 5 minutes of cooking the leaves mix it once. Now it's time to add the boiled dal. So add dal and mix it once.
Step Eleven: Add Tamarind paste as well and mix. Tamarind will give sourness to the dal.
Step Twelve: Now add salt as per taste and remaining chopped garlic. This will enhances the aroma of the recipe(those who doesn't like garlic may skip this step).
Step Thirteen: Now close the lid and give it a nice boil in high flame for 2 minutes. Dal is ready to serve. Serve with hot steamed rice.
