Bamboo shoots or bamboo sprouts (specific species) are used in many Asian cuisines. Special aroma of Bamboo shoot makes it very special. Here in this recipe we are going to prepare Paneer or Indian cottage cheese with bamboo shoot with added spices. Aroma of Bamboo shoot makes this recipe very unique.
If you are confused where to buy bamboo shoots then do not need to worry canned bamboo shoots is available in the market or pickled bamboo shoots are also available. Here in this recipe I have used pickled bamboo shoot. In North-East part of India fresh bamboo shoots are also very common. Bamboo shoots Chinese food is very popular in china and all over the world. Necessary Ingredients To Prepare Paneer with Bamboo Shoot Curry:


Paneer 250 gram,
Capsicum 1 small,
Green peace 100 grams,
Bamboo shoot pickle 2 tbsp,
Tomato 1 small,
Mustard oil 2 tbsp,
Onion 1 large,
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp,
Fenugreek seeds powder 1/4 tsp,
Cumin-coriander powder 1/2 tsp,
Red chili powder 1 tsp,
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp,
Salt as per taste.

Step By Step Method Of Preparation To Prepare Paneer with Bamboo Shoot Curry: 


Step One: Heat oil into a pan.

Step Two: Add onion and fry it until golden brown. 

Step Three: Add ginger garlic paste and mix it nicely. Cook until raw flavor of ginger garlic paste gone.

Step Four: Now add one chopped Tomato and mix nicely.

Step Five: Now add the spices like turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin-coriander powder and Fenugreek seeds powder. Mix it very nicely. Cook it until tomato starts becoming soft.

Step Six: As tomatoes starts becoming soft switch off the flame. Let the spices cool down completely.

Step Seven: As the spices getting cool completely transfer it into a blender. Add 2 tbsp Bamboo Shoot pickle into it. Now blend it to fine paste.

Step Eight: Now heat a non stick pan and add the paste into it. If the paste is very thick 1/4th cup of water can be added into it. Mix it very nicely. Flame should be medium. 

Step Nice: Now add paneer cubes, capsicum pieces and boiled green piece. Mix it nicely.

Step Ten: Add salt as per taste and mix. Close the lid cook for 5 minutes in low flame.

Step Eleven: Now after 5 minutes open the lid and mix once. Our Bamboo shoot curry with paneer is ready to serve.


NB: Fresh bamboo shoots can also be used in this recipe. Here I have used pickled bamboo shoot.Fermented bamboo shoot are widely used in South East Asian and East Asian countries.
