Cardamom 1/4 tsp,
Ghee 1/2 tsp,
Salt 1/4 tsp,
Water for preparing the dough,
Water for boiling the pithas.
Step By Step Method Of Preparing Mahura Pitha Recipe:
Step One: Take rice powder as per your requirement. Here I have taken one and half cup of rice powder. You can buy rice powder from the market or you can prepare it at home. While preparing at home soak the rice for 2 hours then strain the water and prepare rice powder in mixture.Step Two: Now add pinch of salt into it and 1/2 tsp of ghee. Mix it nicely.
Step Three: Now take some warm water and add little by little to rice powder and make a soft dough like the dough we prepare for roti.
Step Four: As the dough gets ready rest it for 10 minutes. Now we prepare the coconut stuffing and pitha shapes.
Step Five: Now heat a pan and add grated coconut and grated jeggery to it. Add some cardamom powder also for flavor. Now mix it nicely. Cook it in low flame until jeggery get melted properly. As this is done keep it aside in a plate. This will be our stuffing.
Step Six: Now take some amount of dough and flatten it by pressing with your thumb and index finger. As it flattened add some coconut-jeggery stuffing inside it and close it properly and give it a long cylindrical shape. Make sure that no crack is there in the pitha shape otherwise it will break while boiling. Prepare all the shapes like this.
Step Seven: Now heat a pan and add 2 cups of water into it. Let it come to a proper boil. As water comes to a boil add pithas to the boiling water. Let it boil for 7 minutes. Flip it once. Now After 7 minutes take it out from the water and keep it into a plate.
Step Eight: Garnish it with some tutti-fruity.
NB: 1. While preparing The dough if you feel the dough is very tight then sprinkle some water and press the dough again.
2. Amount of jeggery in coconut stuffing is as per the taste. If you prefer more sweetness then you can add more.
