Halwa is incomplete without sugar but this halwa recipe is something different. Dates halwa with chana dal is a delicious recipe and the interesting part of the recipe is there is no added sugar. Natural sugar of dates makes this recipe so delicious. Unlike other halwa recipes this recipe contains less calorie and very healthy. Dates de-seeded and chopped 1cup,Chana dal soaked and boiled 1 cup,
Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp,
Ghee 1 tbsp,
Saffron soaked in water,
Milk 1 cup.
Step By Step Method Of Cooking Sugarless Dates Halwa Recipe:
Step One: Soak chana dal for 5 to 6 hours and then boil it. As per your convenience it can be boil into a pan or can be pressure cooked. After boiling it put it into a blender and make a fine paste.Step Two: De-seed all the dates and chopped it into small pieces. My dates are very soft so I have not grind them. If it is not so soft it can be grind also.
Step Three: Now add 1 tbsp ghee into a nonstick pan. For this recipe non-stick pan will be better. As ghee heats up add grind chana dal paste into it and mix it very nicely. Cook for 3 to four minute in medium flame.
Step Four: Now add ghee into it and mix very nicely. Flame should be low in this part.
Step Five: Now add dates into it and mix very nicely. Mix very well and try to mash the dates. Add cardamom powder as well. At this point it should be mix very well.
Step Six: Now as the dates and chana dal mix very well add saffron. I have some saffron pieces soaked into some water and I added it to our halwa. Mix well.
Step Seven: Finally add some dry fruits to it and mix very well.
Our halwa is ready. Serve it to your guests as a dessert. Since this is sugarless it can be serve without any concern.
