Chow Chow dry fry is a very delicious veg recipe. It is a preparation of chow chow with some added spices. It is a very popular recipe in North-Eastern part of India. It can be cooked as a gravy or dry recipe. Let's check the necessary ingredients and step by step procedure to cook this recipe--

Necessary Ingredients To Prepare Chow Chow Dry Fry Recipe: 

Chow Chow Vegetable 1 or 2 cut into cubes, Potato cut into cubes, Salt, Coriander powder, Turmeric powder, Mustard Oil, Onion 1 large cut into slices,
Cumin seeds.

Step By Step Method Of Cooking Chow Chow Dry Fry Recipe:

Step One: Take two chow chow or poriyal and peel it and remove the seeds. Cut it into cubes and keep aside.

Step Two: Now take one medium or large size potato and peel it nicely and cut it into cubes. Keep it aside.

Step Three: Now heat 1 tbsp of mustard oil and add some cumin seeds into it.

Step Four: Add onion slices into it and fry until onions getting translucent.

Step Five: Now its time to add our veggies. Add all the vegetables we cut and mix it evenly.

Step Six: Add salt as per taste and mix it nicely.

Step Seven: Add spices like coriander powder and turmeric powder to it and mix it very nicely so that spices are coated with vegetables.

Step Eight: Now close the lid and cook the vegetables for 10 to 12 minutes. Stir it in-between so that it doesn't stick to bottom of the pan.

Step Nine: Now check if potatoes are boiled or not by pressing one potato. If potato has been boiled then veggies are ready because chow chow doesn't take much time to cook.

Vegetables are ready. Serve it hot. It is a delicious side this with rice or roti.


NB: 1. Before start peeling the chow chow grease some oil to your hand because it will be little bit sticky and you may feel uncomfortable later because it will take little time to remove from your hand.

2. Or another way to cut is grease oil to your hand and peel it and soak it into the water for about 30 minute. By this method sticky water from this veggie will go.

1. Chow chow is very good in a B-complex group of vitamins like thiamin, pyridoxine, riboflavin, and minerals like iron, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, and copper.

2. This is a good sources of the B-complex vitamin, folates. 100 g fresh mirliton carries 93 µg or 23% of daily recommended intake. Folates are essential for cell division, and DNA synthesis.
