Necessary Ingredients To Prepare Split Black Urad Dal Recipe:
Split black dal,
Onion 1 large,
Tomato 1 large,
Ginger-garlic paste 1/2 teaspoon,
1/4 teaspoon(Turmeric powder, Cumin powder, Coriender powder, Red chilli powder),
Oil,
Salt
Step By Step Method Of Cooking Split Black Urad Dal:
Step One: Clean and Soak dal for 2 to 3 hours. Soaking the dal for 2 to 3 hours is necessary because it reduces the cooking time.
Step two: Now in a pressure cooker we are going to cook the dal. Heat the cooker and add some oil into it.
Step Three: Add some cumin seeds into it.
Step Four: Add chopped onion to it and fry until onions get translucent. You can fry it until golden brown.
Step Five: Now add ginger garlic paste and fry it until raw flavor has gone.
Step Six: Now add chopped tomato and fry it until tomato gets soft. You can add some water so that spices wouldn't get burnt.
Step Seven: While frying the tomatoes add the whole spices like Turmeric powder, Cumin powder, Coriender powder, Red chilli powder and mix nicely.
Step Eight: Add salt as per taste and mix nicely.
Step Nine: Fry this dal for seven to eight minutes. This is necessary because it gives nice taste to the dal.
Step Ten: Now add water to it and close the lid and cook it until 5 to 6 whichel.
Step Eleven: After the pressure has left open the lid and check if the dal has boiled or not. Because some dal takes more time to cook. If dal has boiled properly then our recipe is ready.
Serve it in a bowl garnish with some green chili and serve it hot with steamed rice. It taste delicious.
