Matar paneer is a very delicious Indian cuisine. It is a preparation of paneer(Indian cottage cheese) with matar(green peas) with added spices and cream. Cream gives additional richness to this recipe.
This is a gravy recipe and can have with hot steamed rice or chapati. It can be served as main course. This is a very popular recipe in Indian restaurants. Let's see the necessary ingredients to prepare this recipe and step by step method of cooking it--

Necessary Ingredients To Prepare Matar Paneer Recipe: 

Paneer Cubes 250 gram,
Fresh Green Peas 1 cup(Frozen also can be used),
Tomato 1 large,
Onion 1 large,
Ginger garlic paste 1/2 tsp,
Oil 2 tbsp,
Garam Masala powder 1/4 tsp,
Coriander powder 1/2 tsp,
Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp,
Red Chilli powder 1/2 tsp,
Fresh Cream 1 tbsp,
Jeggery 1/2 tsp,
Salt as per taste,
Water 1 cup( as per your requirement).




Step By Step Method Of Cooking Matar Paneer Recipe:


Step One: Take some Indian Cottage cheese or paneer and cut them into cubes and keep aside. Take some fresh green peas and keep it aside in a bowl.

Step Two: Now heat 1 tbsp of oil into a pan and fry paneer until golden brown(If paneer is fresh then no need to fry. I have taken frozen paneer so I have fried it). keep them aside.

Step Three: Now in the remaining oil add green peas and mix evenly and close the lid. Cook for 5 minute in low flame. Green peas will get soft. Keep them aside.

Step Four: Add oil into the same pan and add onion paste and fry until it gets golden.

Step Five: Add ginger garlic paste and fry until raw flavor has gone.

Step Six: Now add all the dry spices like turmeric powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder,red chili powder and mix all the spices evenly.

Step Seven: Now add tomato puree to it and mix this evenly. Let all the spices get cooked until it starts releasing oil. Close the lid and let it cook in medium flame.

Step Eight: While it starts releasing oil add one cup of water into it and give it a nice boil.

Step Nine: Add green peas and paneer to it and mix it evenly.

Step Ten: Add salt as per taste and mix it nicely.

Step Eleven: Add 2 tbsp of fresh cream or cooking cream into it and mix nicely.

Step Twelve: Add some jeggery or sugar to it. Mix nicely.

Matar paneer is ready. This is very delicious cuisine very popular in India. Serve hot as a main course with hot steamed rice or chapati.


NB: 1. Here in this recipe I have used fresh green peas. If you don't find fresh one then frozen can also be used.

2. Instead of oil butter can also be used in preparing this recipe. It will enhance the flavor and taste as well.
