Step By Step Method Of Cooking:
Step One: Take dal(Lentils) into a bowl and wash it properly. I have taken equal proportion of toor dal, mung dal and masoor dal. Total I have taken 250 grams of dal. Now soak it for 1 to 2 hours. Take rice also 100 gram into a separate bowl and wash it properly and soak it for 1/2 hour.
Step Two: Take some vegetables and cut and wash them properly and keep aside. i have taken carrot, potato, red pumpkin and cauliflower.
Step Three: Now heat 3 tbsp of mustard oil into a pan and fry all the veggies till golden brown. Fry them separately. Now keep aside.

Step Six: Now add all the spices like red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt as per taste. Mix them nicely.
Step Seven: Now add rice and mix nicely. Its time to add water. First I have added 2 cups of water. Close lid and let it boil. As water starts boiling add fried potatoes to it.Potato we have added earlier because it takes time to boil. Other veggies I added later.
Step Eight: After 8 minutes of cooking in low flame water already evaporated and khichdi has become dried. So at this state we will add 2 more cups of water to it and remaining veggies. Close lid cook for another 10 minutes. Stir in-between.
Step Nine: Now khichdi is almost ready just cook it for another 5 to six minutes lid open.
