This is a delicious vegetarian recipe from India. The main Ingredient of this recipe is Chana Dal. Here we make soft vada from chana dal and after that we make curry out of it. Necessary Ingredients To Prepare Vada Curry:
Chana Dal 250 gram,
Onion 1 large,
Potato 1 medium,
Tomato 1 medium,
Mustard oil,
Salt as per taste,
Sugar 1/4 tsp,
Cumin-coriander powder 1/2 tsp,
Redchili powder 1/4 tsp,
Panch-phoron 1/4 tsp,
Green chili 2,
Bay leaf 2,
Baking soda 1/4 tsp.
Step By Step Method Of Cooking Vada Curry Recipe:
Step One: Take 250 grams of chana dal and soak it for 2 hours. Soaking is necessary since it make dal soft.
Step Two: Now make a fine paste of this dal.
Step Three: Now take out it into a bowl and add some salt and baking soda and mix it nicely ( baking soda is necessary since it makes vada fluffy).
Step Four: Now add oil into a pan and and add our paste little by little with a spoon to this hot oil. Fry it until golden brown.
Step Five: Flip it to other side as well so that both sides are fried equally.
Step Six: Now after frying the vadas keep it aside.
Step Seven: Now add panch phoron to the remaining oil and make it brown.
Step Eight: Now add onion slices and green chili to it and fry it until onion becomes golden brown.
Step Nine: Now add some potato slices which I have cut earlier. Slices should be thin.
Step Ten: Add tomato slices also and mix nicely.
Step Eleven: Now add salt as per taste and all the spices like bay leaf, coriander-cumin powder, redchili powder, turmeric powder and some amount sugar. Mix nicely.
Step Twelve: Now close lid and cook for 8 to 10 minute till potato gets boiled. Stir in-between.
Step Thirteen: Now add some water( 1/2 cups of water) and add fried vadas to it. Mix them nicely.
Step Fourteen: Close lid and cook for 5 more minutes.
Our vada curry is ready. Serve hot with steamed rice.
