Bhapa Pitha is considered as rice cake which is basically belongs to Bangladesh and some parts of India. It is very delicious and filling recipe. It can be served as a breakfast recipe. Usually this recipe was a regular breakfast meal for people who worked in paddy fields as it is very filling recipe. There are different types of ways to prepare this recipe. Here I am going to prepare it very unique and easy way. Let's see the necessary Ingredients and step by step method of cooking this recipe.
Jeggery 1/4 cup( I have grated the jeggery),
Salt 1/4 tsp,
Water 6 tsp I have added(quantity might be lesser if your coconut is juicy),
Coconut 1/2 cup
Step Two: Now in this rice powder add 1/4th tsp of salt and mix it nicely so that salt is mix evenly with rice powder.
Step Three: Now add grated jeggery to it and mix it also very nicely.
Step Four: Now add grated coconut also and mix it well. I have added 1/2 cups of coconut here.
Step Five: Now mix coconut and rice powder very nicely.
Step Six: Add water little by little with a tsp. I have added here 6 tsp of water since my coconut was not juicy. But quantity of water can be reduced if coconut is juicy.
Step Seven: I have shown the required consistency of the mixture in the video description. It shouldn't be very dry or wet. Little moist should be there.
Step Eight: Now add this mixture in the utensil I have used here and close the lid.
Step Nine: Now boil water into a pressure cooker and close the lid and remove the whichel or pressure regulator. Now place the bhapa pitha utensil on top of it by inserting cooker steam vent into the whole of the pitha pot on bottom.
Step Ten: Now in high flame cook it for 6 to7 minutes.
Step Eleven: Now remove the pot and into a plate flip it to upside down and pitha will come out nicely. Like this way any number of pithas can be prepared. Here I have prepared only two.
This is the easiest way I find to prepare bhapa pitha. It can be done in traditional way also by adding the mixture into a muslin cloth and in a particular lid of a steamer it has to place and steam. This is delicious please try this recipe and comment us how it comes out.
