Necessary Ingredients To Prepare Okra With Mustard Gravy Recipe:
Lady Finger or Bhindi Or Okra 200 grams or 10 to 12 (quantity can be increased as per requirement),Onion 1 small chopeed,
Garlic cloves 2 pieces,
Green chili 1,
Yellow mustard seeds 2 tsp,
Black mustard seeds 1/2 tsp,
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp,
Cumin-coriander powder 1/2 tsp,
Oil 1 tbsp for frying the okra and 1 tbsp for gravy,
Salt as per taste.
Step By Step Method Of Preparing Okra With Mustard Gravy Recipe:
Step One: Wash and clean the lady finger and cut top and bottom part of it. Now half slit it from the middle.Step Two: Now add some salt and turmeric to Okras and mix it nicely.
Step Three: Add oil into a pan and add Okras to it and mix it nicely. Close the lid and in low flame cook it for 5 minutes. Keep checking in-between so that it doesn't stick to the bottom. We have to cook Okras until 70 percent cook. We will not going to cook it completely. After 5 minutes of cooking check it once again and stir it nicely and cook for another 3 minutes in low flame. After okra has been fried keep it aside.
Step Four: Now take mustard seeds and grind it to a powder. After it has been grind completely add a green chili and garlic cloves to it and some water and grind it again and make it a fine paste.
Step Five: Now into a pan add some oil and add chopped onion to it. Fry onions until golden brown.
Step Six: As onions are getting golden brown add mustard paste to it and mix nicely. Add 1/4 th cup of water as well.
Step Seven: Now add turmeric powder, cumin-coriander powder and salt as per taste and mix it nicely.
Step Eight: Now add fried Okra to it and mix nicely. I added some more water because my gravy getting thicker. Now mix it close the lid and cook it 3 to 4 minutes in low flame.
Our gravy is ready. Serve hot with steamed rice and enjoy this delicious recipe
